Orange Friday

Orange Cloth

Black Friday sounds depressing so I'm changing it to Orange Friday and posting a painting called "Orange Cloth."  I painted this still life in David Shevlino's April 2012 workshop at the Easton Studio & School in Easton, Maryland.  The most important lesson I came away from David's workshop with is I  can use large brushes and still get detailed, interesting paintings.  Using a larger brush has helped me not get too bogged down in the details when I start a painting.  Now if I can just remember that rule!

MADE IN AMERICA

The Loft Gallery

I was the October (2012) Artist of the Month at the Loft Gallery, Occoquan, Va.

Here are a couple of paintings from my show "Moments in Time" to prove do I paint more than bad mugs!  Solo shows...a great experience, nerve racking, & I love it when they are done.

Made In America

I was visiting Chicago over the July 4th weekend and couldn't resist painting these shoes I saw in a store window.  I'd have a heck of a time walking in the shoes, but I'm still trying to figure out how anyone could walk in those boots.

Sunning

My friend Sue loves to watch the turtles when she walks along the lake near our house.
