Day 11 | A Sketching I will go...."Smartphone Poses"

No time for painting today so I've done a few quick sketches instead.....

I have a love/hate relationship with smartphones.  I hate seeing people sitting in restaurants and everyone at the table is looking at their phones instead of talking.  However, I love it when I want to practice sketching faces.  People talking on or looking at their phones stay still long enough for me to get a quick drawing!

I love to paint beach umbrellas.  There's something about them that just make me happy.

Challenge #5 - Beau Roux

This is #5 for the HH4 as we affectionately call the Hilton Head 4 challenge.  It was Regula "Lulu" Scheifele's pick.  Lulu sent us a number of pictures she took in Paris.  I'm so envious.  All the photos were great.  Picking one was a challenge in itself!  I loved this gal's gorgeous red hair, so as they might say in Paris, Beau Roux!

Art Appreciation & ART TIP

I'm finding my postings are as eclectic as my choice of painting subjects.  When I'm asked what do I like to paint, its not an easy thing to answer.  My best description is that I paint urban and rural landscapes and people doing everyday things.  Then if you throw in a few still life paintings I get closer to a description of what I paint.  Sometimes I wish I liked to paint  a specific "theme" especially for shows.  Then I think life is too short so go ahead and paint whatever catches my fancy.
